As a licensed clinical psychologist, I am fortunate to have practiced in Mount Pleasant for nearly 20 years. I truly love the work I do with children, teenagers and adults to address a range of challenges including anxiety, depression, behavioral disorders, parenting concerns and management of major life changes and stressors. I incorporate evidence-based methods into my work, primarily Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) techniques. Over the course of my career, I have also developed expertise in helping families transition through divorce. When parents can work together respectfully and productively, their children fare better through the process. Services include divorce specific therapy for children, co-parenting sessions and developing parenting plans. It is my firm belief that you will benefit most from our work when you are able to develop insights and tools that you can use outside of my office to help reduce distress, resolve conflicts and reach your full potential. I completed pre-doctoral internships in pediatric oncology, college counseling and family therapy, a doctoral internship at New York University's Rusk Institute of Rehabilitation Medicine and post-doctoral work at Mount Sinai Medical Center, Department of Communication Disorders in New York City. I then moved to Charleston where I worked at the College of Charleston and MUSC's Institute of Psychiatry prior to opening my private practice in 2001. As the mother of two I also have a particular interest in the joys and challenges of parenting. I enjoy working with parents to creatively address parenting concerns.
